The Whale Nursery Project is a campaign design created in collaboration with Greenpeace to raise awareness and opposition to oil drilling in the Great Australian Bight. The concept of the Whale Nursery instalment is to provide an immersive experience in public spaces, representing the deep-sea habitat of the Bight. These instalments are made up of origami whales illuminated with coloured lighting within a dark space. The giant mobiles mimic the nursery-like habitat that the Bight provides for whales to raise their young. They were designed to evoke a sombre sense of wonder that encourages people to take an interactive stand against deep sea drilling.
